THE Warm-up
To get yourself out of a creative rut and before launching into any story creation session, it’s a good idea to do a bit of warm-up. No, I’m not talking about a jog around the block or some toe touches. I’m talking about 20 minutes of freewriting based on a prompt.
What’s freewriting?
It means writing wherever your mind takes you without worrying about story or sentence structure. And NEVER stopping to edit along the way.
So why don’t we get started, Story Quester?
Select one of the 20 words below and set a timer for 5-20 minutes:
- Moonlit
- Frantic
- Illuminated
- Trickle
- Refuge
- Drizzly
- Silent
- Beyond
- Force
- Ravenous
- Sweet
- Stolen
- Ritual
- Tattoo
- Blade
- Rat
- Ominous
- Monstrous
- Vanished
- Alchemy
And if you need a character to use to get started right now you can borrow mine:
Zephyr Argent multiverse traveler in search of the person he lost…
…and secretly can’t seem to remember much about.
Now fire up your favorite writing program or pull out that trusty notebook and get started!
By the time you finish your warm-up, the first lesson in my 5-Day Story Creation mini-course should be arriving in your inbox 📥
